Pakistan PM Imran Khan, president & other dignitaries attend walima reception of army chief’s son - Alif Info

RAWALPINDI – Politicians, military officials and business tycoons on Monday night attended the walima reception of the son of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The ceremony took place at Army House in Rawalpindi.
Political leaders, who graced the event included, Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Syed Khursheed Shah, Khwaja Asif, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Pervez Khattak, Jahangir Khan Tareen, all the four chief ministers and governors, ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Kingdom, United States of America and other friendly countries attended the walima reception held for the newlywed couple – Saad Siddique Bajwa and Mahnoor Sabir.
Former army chiefs General (retd) Raheel Sharif, General (retd) Jehangir Karamat, General (retd) Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani, General (retd) Waheed Kakar and others were also invited.
Chaudhry Nisar, Usman Buzdar, Asad Umar and Murad Ali Shah were also in presence at the event.
Former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, musician Shehzad Roy, Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and foreign envoys also attended the gathering.
However, Sharif family members, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and leaders of other religious parties remained absent.

ISLAMABAD – Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to clear outstanding dues of the media houses.
He said this while giving details of a meeting held with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair to discuss media-related matters on Monday.
He said it would help check retrenchment of employees from various media outlets.
The issue of outstanding payments of media also came under discussion.
The minister said the meeting decided that from now onwards a transparent advertisement policy will be chalked out to deal with this matter purely on merit basis.
He said PTI government has already abolished censorship on state-run media and now it will abolish the government’s control on the advertisement policy.
The minister regretted that the previous governments misused advertisement for their own political purposes.

PM Imran Pakistan, Qatari armed forces chief discuss bilateral ties - Alif Info

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan while talking to Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ghanim Bin Shaheen Al Ghanim in Islamabad said Pakistan is committed to build mutually beneficial relations with Qatar to benefit of the two peoples.
He expressed confidence that the bilateral trade will further expand in the coming years.
The prime minister expressed his desire for amity, friendship and good relations among Muslim countries and solidarity to confront common challenges.
He also expressed gratitude for Qatar’s decision to import one hundred thousand workers from Pakistan. He welcomed the establishment of Labour Offices by Qatar in Karachi and Islamabad, to streamline and expedite the recruitment process.
Conveying the greetings of Prime Minister of Qatar, the Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces assured Prime Minister Imran Khan of full support and cooperation of the government of Qatar in attaining the dream of a progressive, prosperous and forward-looking Pakistan.
